Fracture Healing in Children is a review of pediatric osseous modeling and remodeling, and is meant to serve as an aid for practitioners in discussion with parents regarding non-operative treatment for pediatric fractures.This book contains over 70 radiographs of fractures in children ranging from 0-18 years old demonstrating the great potential that children have to remodel osseous deformity over time with detailed examples of various bones throughout the body (clavicle, humerus, radius/ulna, femur, tibia/fibula etc).Designed to facilitate consultations with parents who seek reassurance that their child’s displaced fracture will heal, Fracture Healing in Children is a visual aid and quick confidence-booster for worried parents. Thoughtfully assembled to significantly reduce consultation time and greatly increase patient confidence in the care team. When Erynn Krasovic began her career in pediatric orthopedics she found that she needed a tool to aid in discussions with anxious parents in regards to their child’s fracture appearance and it’s potential to remodel appropriately. To that end, she created an informal reference book “Fracture Remodeling” in 2017. David Bennett throughout his career has had a special research interest in the natural history of pediatric fractures and their remodeling potential. In collaboration, they identified a need for such a book in the pediatric orthopedic literature.This is also an educational book great for residents or medical students who wish to know more about the pathophysiology of fracture healing, pediatric anatomy, and physis anatomy/physiology.
